Importance of a Phone Charger

The story that I have decided to share took place one night after I had finished babysitting. The family had just moved to a new house, in an area of town that I didn't know too well. So, I needed to use the GPS on my phone in order to get there. As the night came to an end, my phone was only at 5% since the kids that I was babysitting were playing on it. I decided that I would try to make my way home from memory, but that was a very wrong decision.

As I tried to make my way back, I got incredibly lost, and started to freak out. I was in the middle of no where, with a dead phone, and a half tank of gas. I started taking random turns because I couldn't think straight and had no idea what to do. I felt hopeless and fully saw the situation that I had gotten myself into. I couldn't believe what was happening, it was too late to try and turn back now, so I just kept driving.

I was finally able to calm myself down and think logically of my situation. I realized that the only possible way that I could get home was by going to a store and buying a charger. That idea seemed hopeless since I had only passed houses at this point in my journey. However, I didn't lose hope and tried to follow signs and my surroundings.

Finally, I found a CVS that was open. I ran into the store wiping a tear away and grabbed the first charger that I could find. I plugged the charger into my phone and saw that my phone was charging. This was the best thing that I had seen all day and i couldn't believe that this long adventure was finally coming to an end.

Once my phone was fully charged, I typed in my home address and saw that I was about 30 minutes away from my house. I couldn't believe that a seemingly easy 15 minute drive turned into over an hour long crazy adventure. I raced home and told my family about what had just happened to me and I was so grateful that this situation was over.

From this experience I learned two lessons, one, which is how important it is to stay calm in a time of panic, and two, always bring an extra charger with you. The first lesson is more serious, and this experience really showed me the importance of it. I was only able to find the CVS when I thought logically and was calm. The second lesson is less significant, but it is always helpful to bring an extra charger with you when you go to new places. All in all, always remember to stay calm, and bring an extra charger with you.
